Naturally, Hoover's find has generated a great deal of controversy within the scientific community - and with good reason. There are many skeptics who argue that the alleged 'alien' life forms could just as easily be terrestrial in origin (i.e., created by contamination here on Earth). It should be noted, however, that so far no one has been able to offer a satisfactory explanation for how terrestrial contamination could produce such intricate and varied forms.
